Watch: MS Dhoni gets the DRS call spot on to remove Prithvi Shaw
Sometimes, we wonder why DRS is not named as Dhoni Review System. No offence to whoever named it but the decisions that MS Dhoni takes in a split second is something unbelievable, something which only he can do it. We have seen a lot of mind-blowing street-smart wicketkeeping traits from him time and again on the field.
CSK skipper MS Dhoni once again got the DRS call bang on as his cricketing brain helped the team dismiss Prithvi Shaw at the best scene during the match between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings.
Captain Cool got the better of Umpire Ravi in terms of making the decision and that too he was able to visualise it perfectly behind the stumps. Deepak Chahar, who was the bowler, released the ball a bit short which tempted Shaw to go for a pull but he failed to connect the ball properly as the ball went and hit the pads.
Soon after that, MS Dhoni confidently appealed towards the umpire but the latter wasn’t really interested at the call as he thought the ball was clearly going above the stumps height. However, within a time duration of 10 seconds, MS Dhoni decided to go for a review, a risk which was worth taking considering the talented batsman at the crease.
The TV replays showed that the ball pitched outside off and it did go on to hit the middle stump and Dhoni stole the show in the match as Umpire Ravi had to reverse his decision.
