Watch: MS Dhoni hits 102m six off Natarajan’s bowling
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni came under fire for his slow knocks in this season’s IPL at the United Arab Emirates. Fans hitting out at MS Dhoni’s batting is nothing new. Earlier, MS Dhoni proved time and again that he knows how to shut the critics. Though he is not in good form at the moment, he showed that he still has got a lot of cricket left in him.
MS Dhoni scored 21 off 13 balls during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. The CSK captain stole the spotlight by hitting a gigantic six out of the stadium. The eye-catching incident took place in the fifth ball of the penultimate over when MS Dhoni hit Natarajan for a massive 102 meter six.
Overall, MS Dhoni hit two fours and a six. He was dismissed by Natarajan as Kane Williamson took a brilliant catch. CSK won the match by 20 runs. The winning captain said a lot of things at the post-match presentation. First of all, he was super happy with the team’s victory as almost everyone contributed. CSK did a pretty good job as far as the batting is concerned.

“Ultimately what really matters is you getting two points. What T20s have shown is that there are a few games that don’t go your way and then there are some that go your way even when you haven’t earned it. Today I felt we did a very good job even in the batting.
There was some purpose with the bat and the batsmen assessed the situation very well. With a total like 160, it all depends on the start you get in the first six overs. The fast bowlers did the job, the spinners came into play and it was one game that was as close to being perfect. It was a par score and I usually assess scores after the first six overs. If there are misfields in the first six overs then a par score becomes an under par score. A lot depended on the fast bowlers. I just told them to be expressive on the field and hit their areas,” MS Dhoni concluded.
Ravindra Jadeja was named the player of the match for his impressive all-round show. He scored a quick-fire cameo in the fag end of the innings that helped CSK post a competitive total. Jadeja scored 25 runs off just 10 balls with three fours and a six. He was also decent with the ball as well. He registered 1/21 in three overs.
“Very happy to contribute with both bat and ball. I was backing myself and I was only looking to see the ball and hit the ball without pre-planning. The wicket looks on the slower side so I was just looking to bowl into the stumps rather than give them room. It is a difficult wicket for batsmen. I take great pleasure in my fielding, and whenever I field, I always look for a good run-out or a catch for the team,” Ravindra Jadeja said after receiving the man of the match award at the post-match presentation ceremony.
