WATCH: Mushfiqur Rahim gives Rubel Hossain an earful for not reviewing a decision

We all know how much emotional and expressive the former Bangladesh skipper and the current wicket-keeper is. And he often shows his frustration and anger on the field. He doesn’t hide anything inside him; he just throws it away at that very moment. But this time the situation was a bit different for Mushfiqur Rahim.

In the opening encounter of the 2018 Unimoni Asia Cup in the city of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on September 15, Bangladesh was facing Sri Lanka in the one-day international format. The incident happened when Rubel Hussain, the Bangladeshi bowler refused to take a review when he was given out. And because of this irresponsible behaviour of his, non- striker Rahim got angry with him.

Bangladesh were batting first and they were 8 wickets down in 42nd over. Mushi was a lone warrior batting on 95 while Rubel was giving him a good company from the other end. But Lasith Malinga, the premium bowler from the opposite team was at his best and already took 4 wickets in the match. He trapped Rubel in front of the stumps LBW and umpire gave him out straight away. And Rubel started to take a long walk to the pavilion without even taking the remaining review.

Rahim called him back towards the pitch immediately and gave him a lesson by letting out all the frustration. Rubel took the review right after and guess what happened? The ball took the inside edge of his bat so the umpire had to overturn his decision and give him not out.

Here’s the video:

Though Rubel’s stay didn’t last long as in the very next over he was given not out and this time Lanka took the review and got the umpire wrong again. But Rahim kept going all guns blazing to his knock of 144 not out which is now the highest ever score by a wicket-keeper in Asia Cup history.
