Mushfiqur’s heroic knock goes in vain

Just before three days ago the man who played a heroic knock for Bangladesh was on his way to take his side over the line in back to back matches, but in the end Mushfiqur Rahim’s heroic effort this time went in vain.

In reply to India’s 176, Bangladesh lost early wickets in the beginning. Then came Mushfiqur and shifted some momentum by building a partnership with skipper Mahmudullah and Sabbir Rahman.

After the dismissal of Mahmudullah, the partnership between Sabbir and Mushfiqur gave some hopes to Bangladesh but soon it faded away right after the departure of Sabbir who got clean bowled by Shardul Thakur for 27 runs.

Still it didn’t stop Mushfiqur from hitting the bowlers all over the park. He ended up scoring back to back fifty and also became the third Bangladeshi batsman after Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan to do so.

The one man army stood unbeaten at the crease for 72 runs off just 55 balls including 8 fours and 1 six but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to take his side to yet another glory.
