Watch: Nadeem’s weird caught and bowled dismissing Ngidi
Caught and bowled catches are not too often witnessed in the game of cricket. The bowler has to make sure that he bowls straight so much so that it would give much freedom for the batsman to hit it straighter.
But by doing so, the batsman either lofts it up and ends up being caught by the bowler or at times, there is a distinct possibility of a run-out (in case if the ball touches the bowler’s hand and directly hits the stumps while the batsman is inches away from the crease).
During the third Test match between India and South Africa in Ranchi, Shahbaz Nadeem took a strange caught and bowled catch to dismiss Lungi Ngidi.
The latter was so unfortunate that he got dismissed in an unfamiliar fashion as the ball hit by him went straight to the non-striker Anrich Nortje after which the ball deflected and bounced off the South African.
Nadeem who witnessed it at the best scene took an easy catch.

South Africa were bowled out by 133 runs after India enforced a follow-on. The hosts once again got the better of the visitors as they won by an innings and 202 runs. India swept South Africa completely under the carpet in the three-match Test series and this is the first that they whitewashed Proteas in the longest format of the game.
