Watch: Natarajan receives a grand reception in his home town
Indian left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan received a hero’s welcome in his home town Chinnappampatti, after his arrival from Australia.
Rahane and his men clinched a memorable Test series win to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy. India won the Gabba Test by three wickets and conquered the four-match series 2-1. With the series win, Indian players returned home with two series win in their long outing in Australia.
The tour witnessed some fabulous performances from Indian youngsters. There were quite a few debutants too in the series. One among the shined debutants in the tour is the left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan.
After had a good IPL season for Sunrisers Hyderabad, T Natarajan was included in India’s touring squad as a net bowler. But he was included in the white-ball squads as a replacement for an injured teammate from his state, Varun Chakravarthy.
Natarajan was given his India cap at Canberra in the third ODI. There he impressed with two wickets in crucial times. The impressive debut made him play all three T20I games. He delivered what was expected from the team management and picked up 6 wickets with an economy of 6.92 in three games.
Finally, due to the injury woes around the team, the left-arm fast bowler received his Test cap in the Gabba Test. There also he picked up three wickets and ended the tour as a memorable one. On January 21st, all the Indian players returned to their natives.
Meanwhile, the fast bowler received a hero’s reception in his hometown Chinappampatti. He was given the guard of honor by the hometown people in a cart. The video is going viral among fans as none of the cricketers received such a welcome in recent times.
