Watch: Northern Warriors smash 183 in 10 overs in T10 League
Northern Warriors played a record-breaking inning of 183 from only ten overs in the ongoing T10 Cricket League tournament.
The T10 Cricket League in the United Arab Emirates is the trending topic for the last two days. Two days of play has been completed in this year’s edition and it has got the eyes of fans towards it from the first day itself.
In the 8th match of the league, Northern Warriors met Punjabi Legends in group B. Punjabi Legends won the toss and as usual in the league, they elected to bowl first in Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah.
Northern Warriors’ top order batting line-up was fully taken by the Caribbean men and they once again they proved why they are called as the masters in the shortest versions of the game between bat and ball.
Northern Warriors started their game right from the second ball of their innings. Since then it was a festival of batting in Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah. The spectators only visioned sixes, fours, and wickets as a carnival of game.
Lendl Simmons and Nicholas Pooran opened the innings and started to thrash the ball all over the park. Simmons was dismissed on 36 runs. Then Andre Russell joined hand with Nicholas Pooran.
The duo turned out to be a deathly one for the opponents and sent the ball out of the park every time. Nicholas Pooran scored 77 runs from only 25 balls with a strike rate of 308 where he scored ten sixes in his innings.
On the other end, Andre Russell played a destructive cameo along with Roman Powell. Russell scored 38 runs from 9 balls with a strike rate of 422.22. In the end, Warriors put up a huge total of 183 in the allocated ten overs and set a huge target for Punjabi Legends.
In reply, Punjabi Legends managed to score only 84 runs in the ten overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Northern Warriors comfortably won the game by 99 runs.
