Our batsmen made the task easier for bowlers: Miraz
Bangladesh have achieved their biggest victory in Test cricket defeating Windies by an innings and 184 runs.
With two and half days more to go, Bangladesh accorded the massive win against the Caribbeans, restricting them to 213 runs in their second innings after the visiting side succumbed to 111 all out in the first innings and had been inflicted to follow on. This was, however, the very first time Bangladesh could able to make a team follow on in a Test match.
In the top of the crowning performers of the home team, Mehedi Hasan Miraz flew high above the level of the ground counting 12 wickets in the match conceding 117 runs.
The youngster expressed the joy without being obscure; said, “After a long time I got the award, and I’m really happy.”
“My teammates have been really supportive. Our bowlers did really well – especially Taijul and Shakib. Nayeem supported really well to. At the end of the day we did very well and we have been successful,” Miraz said.
The 21 year all-rounder reckoned the success had been ease by the batting performance of the team in the first innings. He said,
“I love batting too, and our batsmen set the tone with a 500+ score, so that made the job easier for the bowlers.”
The three match limited over series between the two teams will start from December 9 in Dhaka followed by a three match T20I series.
