Watch: Phangiso takes a sharp diving catch
South African player Aaron Phangiso took a sharp running diving catch in the ongoing Mzansi Super League in his home country.
The Mzansi Super League is now on the floors, South Africa’s biggest T20 league which has started after so many arguments and obstacles. A sum of six teams is competing in the new T20 league of Cricket South Africa.
The tournament kick-started in the opening encounter between Cape Town Blitz and Tshwane Spartans and Cape Town Blitz won the inaugural game of the new T20 league of Cricket South Africa.
During the second match of the league, South African left-arm orthodox bowler Aaron Phangiso took an absolutely stunning catch with a running followed by a great diving.
Aaron Phangiso is representing Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and the franchise took on Jozi Stars in their first game of the league. The catch was taken during the innings of Jozi Stars.
Ryan Mclaren bowled the third delivery of the 16th over in Jozi Stars’ innings. Nono Pongolo was the batsman and the delivery came as a short-pitched delivery.
Pongolo worked that short ball towards deep backward point and the ball went in the air. Aaron Phangiso ran all the way from the deep point towards the short third man region and put up a dive to take one of the stunning catches in the game.
The catch forced Nono Pongolo to walk back on 4 runs. Jozi Stars managed to score only 124 in their allocated quota of twenty overs in the match. Nelson Mandela Bay Giants chased it comfortably and won the match by five wickets.
