Watch Pollard blitz gives St Lucia second win

St Lucia Stars skipper Kieron Pollard has hit 30 in an over to guide his side to an emphatic six-wicket victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors in Gros Islet. This is St Lucia’s second win of CPL 2018.

Requiring 31 from three overs, Pollard smashed 664644 off leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo in the 18th over. Andre Fletcher took a single on the first ball of 19th over to earn a comfortable victory in match No.15. It’s their second win in seven matches this year.

Pollard remained unbeaten on 18-ball 41 runs including 4 fours and 3 sixes. Fletcher, the player of the match, made 45* runs from 46 deliveries. David Warner scored 23 off 16 batting at No.4.

Veerasammy Permaul scalped two wickets for 20 runs including a maiden. Leggies Imran Tahir and Bishoo struck once each.

Earlier, Guyana Amazon Warriors managed to put 140/9 on board after losing the toss. Opener Luke Ronchi hit 24 off 9 with 4 fours and a six at the top. Cameron Delport top-scored with 25 but played 33 balls for it.

Kesrick Williams and Obed McCoy chipped in among the wickets, both taking two each. Young Afghan leggie Qais Ahmad took the big wicket of Warriors captain Shoaib Malik.

Guyana are still placed second on the points table with six points from five matches, equalling with Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaica Tallawahs. St Lucia are placed sixth.
