South Africa took on Australia in the one-off T20I on November 17th in Queensland. The visitors were able to win the one-off T20I too following the ODI series win in the tour.

The game was affected by rain and shortened as ten overs per side. The visitors batted first and posted 108 for the loss of six wickets in their innings. In reply, Australia managed to score only 87 runs and South Africa won the match by 21 runs.

Chasing a tough target of 109 in their ten overs, Australia had a lot of hopes on Maxwell who got a start after some superb bowling by the Proteas. However, even Maxwell found it difficult to get going and failed to take his side over the line. His 23-ball 38 went in vain much due to the lack of any support from the other end.

In the ninth over of the innings, the all-rounder was at the receiving end of one of the most bizarre deliveries. The third ball of Rabada’s over slipped out of his hand and flew directly to the fielder at point. The on-field umpires took their time to discuss and eventually declare it a dead ball, a decision which took commentators by surprise.

With this win, South Africa completed their short tour to Australia with two trophies. Australia will host India three-match T20I series from November 21st.
