Watch: Rahul engages in a funny banter with KXIP teammate Neesham
India’s wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul hit the headlines for all the right, wrong and comical reasons in the third and final ODI at Bay Oval. He was the pick of the batsmen for India as he scored a scintillating century in ODIs, which was his fourth in this format. He did his best to help his team reach a decent total.
While India were trying to restrict and put pressure on New Zealand, KL Rahul missed an easy run-out chance to dismiss Henry Nicholls who was batting on 23. It would have been a different story altogether had KL Rahul caught the ball and whipped the bails off.
However, Nicholls scored 80 and helped the team lay a solid platform which helped Tom Latham and Colin de Grandhomme to chase down the target with 17 balls to spare. Talking about the comical reason, KL Rahul engaged in a banter with his Kings XI Punjab teammate Jimmy Neesham.
During the 20th over of the Indian innings, wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul, after hitting Jimmy Neesham for a single, barged into the New Zealand bowler which was followed up with some banter between the two Kings XI Punjab teammates.
Before things could turn ugly on the field, the on-field umpire was quick to intervene both of them.
