Rajshahi Kings end Dhaka Dynamites’ winning streak
Rajshahi Kings have registered a comfortable victory against table-toppers Dhaka Dynamites in match number 17 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) to end their winning streak.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s team, who came up with an amazingly sweet gesture by wearing jerseys with their mother’s name in it won the toss and opted to bat first.
Rajshahi Kings’ opener failed as an opener as he departed for only 1, but Shahriar Nafees (25) and Marshall Ayub (45) built up after the early damage quite well. With 3 fours and 2 sixes, Ayub scored 45 off just 31 balls.
However, after his dismissal, Dhaka kept taking wickets in the crucial stages to restrict Rajshahi to 136. Sunil Narine was the pick of the bowler, who picked up 3 wickets and conceded only 19 runs.
In reply, Narine failed with the bat as he departed for 1 and man in form Hazratullah Zazai lost his wicket with only 6 runs under his belt courtesy of a stunning delivery by Udana which knocked downed his stumps.
Dhaka couldn’t come back in the game after the early breakthroughs and none of the batsmen couldn’t cross the 20s except wicket-keeper batsman Nurul Hasan.
Mustafizur Rahman was economical once again as he conceded only 19 runs in his four overs including one wicket. However, the damage done was mostly by the spinning duo Mehidy and Arafat Sunny, who picked up 2 and 3 wickets respectively.
