Watch: Rishab Pant slames an incredible one-handed six
Rishab Pant scored his maiden T20I half-century after making his debut in the format and that knock includes an incredible one-handed six.
India whitewashed Windies in the three-match T20I series in the home. India came into the series without their regular captain Virat Kohli who was given a rest. Further their iconic player MS Dhoni was also axed from the squad considering the future fixtures of India in the format.
Already India secured the series with back to back wins in the first two games. They came into the game with a possible chance for a whitewash. And they succeeded in the attempt too.
Rishab Pant had a good outing in the match scoring his maiden half-century. He came out to the middle at No.4 during India’s chase of 182 in 20 overs and added 130 runs in just 13 overs with opener Shikhar Dhawan (92) for the third wicket after two went down for 45.
It was Pant’s maiden half-century in T20I cricket, a format in which he made his international debut in February 2017. He has played only seven T20Is since his debut but his fifty in Chennai.
Coming to the six, it was in the last ball of the 13th over in Indian chase. Kieron Pollard bowled his typical slower one and Pant worked it towards the deep mid-wicket. Although he failed to take proper timing, he was successful to get the ball out of the park. His bottom hand came off while executing the shot but the result was still a happy one for the Indian fans.
