Indian openers were absolutely brilliant, right from the start of the innings. They added 136 runs for the first wicket. But they had some mere escapes from the run outs when the score was less than 50.

The ball was worked on to the off-side by KL Rahul and there was massive confusion over the second run as the two batsmen displayed the lack of understanding that comes with not playing together often, but fielder Fakhar Zaman threw the ball at the wrong end and the chance slipped away.

Rohit came all the way for the second run and he was near the bowler’s end. But Fakhar Zaman made a blunder by throwing the ball to the non-striker’s end instead of striker’s end where Rohit was no way near to that. In the meantime, Rohit managed to back to the striker’s end and survived the run-out. Later he went onto register his 24th ODI century.
