Afghanistan batted first and managed to score only 227 for the loss of nine wickets in the allocated 50 overs as Pakistan bowlers were picking wickets at regular intervals.

Pakistan captain and wicket keepe Sarfraz Ahmed missed an easy chance of taking a catch during Afghanistan innings. It was the penultimate delivery of the 27th over which was bowled by Imad Wasim. The pressure was only mounting on Ikram Ali Khil for playing dot balls and the situation demanded him to cut loose.

Ikram played a scoop shot but the ball brushed his shoulder and its reflection ended up ball going in the air and Sarfaraz was looking clueless to take the catch. The Pakistan skipper looked left and then right but had no idea about where the ball had gone, which eventually landed just beside him.
