Watch: Shoaib Malik takes the best catch of his career
The Lankan Premier League has indeed lived up to fans’ expectations. The players who have participated in the league have made sure to deliver the best when it mattered the most. As many as 5 teams are playing in the tournament. However, it is just the beginning.
Recently, fans witnessed Andre Russell’s whirlwind knock against Galle Gladiators. Russell who plays for Colombo Kings in the LPL smashed fastest fifty in LPL. He managed to achieve the feat in just 14 balls, which is also the third-joint fastest fifty in T20s.
Now, recently, Jaffna Stallions’ Shoaib Malik stunned the fans by taking a juggling catch near the boundary rope. During the match between Colombo Kings and Jaffna Stallions at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota, Malik took an amazing catch to send Colombo Kings’ skipper Angelo Matthews to the dressing room.
Perhaps Malik might have taken the best catch of his cricketing career. Malik who was positioned at long-off region saw Matthews hit a big shot off Viyaskanth’s bowling. While Matthews aimed for the six, it lacked elevation and power as the ball was almost trying to go over the rope.
However, Malik had total control over his body as he initially stopped the ball from going for a six. He then went past the boundary rope and quickly managed to get inside the rope only to take a catch in safe pair of hands.
