Watch: South African players deceived by match ball in boundary line
South African players had to spend more time in the search of the match ball following a boundary scored by Indian batsman on day 2 of the first Test.
India continued their dominantion on day 2 of the first Test against South Africa as the visitors had another off day in the field with both bat and ball. India ended up scoring 502/7 in their first innings with Mayank Agarwal leading the batting line-up with his maiden double ton in Test cricket.
While Indian batsmen continued to frustrate South African players on day 2, it was the match ball which had some more fun with the visitors. The incident happened on the fifth ball of 129th over of Indian innings.
The ball went for four byes surpassing the wicket keeper and that settled between the advertisment lables on the filed. It was Vernon Philander, chasing the ball and he lost the sight of the ball. Along with the reserve players of his team he searched the ball inbetween the covers that were held outside the boundary line.
A cameraman too joined with them and they all were clueless where the ball was. Finally Aiden Markram came in rescue for them and found the ball inbetween the labels.
