WATCH: Stokes pulls off an absolute gem of a catch

Indian Premier League has witnessed so many memorable moments since its inception and the one that stands out is the manner in which players take a catch. In yet another incident which took the crowd by surprise during the match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Ben Stokes pulled off a flying catch, in what is arguably one of the greatest catches this season.

It is not that easy to take that catch but Stokes made it look so. When CSK lost almost half of their batters in their chase of 151, Kedar Jadhav came out to bat, he chipped in a quick single but was then mounted pressure by Jofra Archer who bowled in good line and lengths as he contained the batsman for four balls on the trot.

In a bid to break the deadlock, Kedar Jadhav cuts off short of a length delivery bowled by Archer but Stokes was waiting there to catch his prey in his safe pair of hands. The way in which he timed his jump to perfection speaks huge volumes about the efforts with which he pulled off a ripper in a sensational fashion.

CSK pulled off a thriller by 4 wickets

Rajasthan posted 151/7 on the board but were handed a daunting task to stop CSK. The bowlers did a pretty good job by picking early wickets but MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu stole the spotlight by constructing a vital 95-run stand before Rayudu got out for a well played 57.

MS Dhoni too played good but couldn’t stay there for long as he too got out for 58. At the end it was Jadeja and Santner who finished things off in style, with Santner being the star sealing a sensational six to get the team past the victory line. With 6 wins and 1 defeat, the table-toppers earn 12 points.
