Watch: Taskin Ahmed’s 4 wickets against Rangpur Riders

In the 21st match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2019, Rangpur Riders eclipsed Sylhet Sixers chasing 194.

So, Riders are back winning the moment after suffering successive loses; with three balls remaining in the innings, Farhad Reza tossed Kapali over the bowler’s head clearing the ropes to ensure the 4 wicket win against Sylhet Sixers at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

All eyes were set to AB de Villiers; the Proteas hard hitter making BPL debut for Rangpur Riders on this day, produced a pragmatic 34 off 21 deliveries entertaining the crowd with 2 boundaries and equal number of sixes.

And out of the top fours of Riders, everyone of them except Chris Gayle, did ample harm to Sixers’ bowlers who were defending a thick total of 194. The joy of sending Gayle as early as in the second delivery of the innings diminished soon with Hales and Rossouw started cracking the defense of the opposition.

In less than next seven overs, Riders have had 63 on the board losing Hales just to pave the way for a de Villiers’ show. He and Rossouw added 67 in the third wicket partnership.

Rossouw top scored with a 35 ball 61.

In the first half of the match, Sabbir Rahman led the sublime attack upon Riders’. Opening the innings with Litton Das afforded him (Sabbir) with enough time in the crease to launch substantial hitting.

The accompanying batsmen only associated Sabbir during the innings. Striking 6 shots to clear the ropes and 5 to boundaries, Sabbir lost his wicket in the first ball of the final over scoring 85 off 51.

Nicholas Pooran made an unbeaten 47. Taskin Ahmed grabbed four out of six wickets fallen in Riders’ innings.
