In the 10th match of the Pakistan Super League 2019, Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans by 6 wickets relying upon a striking fifty by AB de Villiers.

Lahore Qalandars, at one stage, regretted the decision to send Multan Sultans to bat first when successive half centuries by two openers Umar Siddiq and James Vince carried the Sultans to a flying start.

The opening partnership counted 135 runs closing to twelfth over of the innings before Nepalese prodigy Sandeep Lamicchane spun the game around the Qalandars.

Losing several wickets at a time could not restrict Multan’s run flow who eventually ended scoring 200 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Lahore Qalandars’ chase was slipped a bit losing Sohail Akhtar initially. In the second partnership, Fakhar Zaman and Salman Butt contributed 66 runs.

For the Qalandars, AB de Villiers was yet to be stepped into the field. And the former Proteas hard hitter slammed a vibrant, unbeaten half century to propel the team’s innings racing towards the victory target.

With a strike rate of 179.3, he made 3 strokes of fours and equal number of sixes, de Villiers, who had been adjudged man of the match, reached 52 facing 29 deliveries.
