The 42nd game of this season between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab saw some heated exchanges between the captains of both the teams. As we all know that Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin are one of the aggressive players. However, Royal Challengers Bangalore held nerves to seal the game by 17 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Batting first, RCB posted a huge total of 202 on their board. Even though they lost their skipper cheaply, Parthiv Patel continued to impress his fans with his aggressive knock. They scored 70 runs in the powerplay but failed to score runs in the middle-overs after losing the wickets of Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali and Akshdeep Nath. They were struggling at 84 for four before AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis join the hands.

The former South African skipper, AB de Villiers took the responsibility and started to smash the bowlers at the death overs. They scored 64 runs in the last three overs that helped them to post a massive total on the board. While chasing the huge total, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle started really well as they scored 36 in the first three overs.

In the fourth over of the second innings, Gayle smashed a huge six in the first ball of Umesh Yadav’s over. He wanted to send the another one but found the fielder at the long-on. Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul kept KXIP in a game and started to smash the bowlers. But, Agarwal and Rahul’s wickets helped RCB back in the game.

However, the fiery shots from Nicholos Pooran kept the hopes of KXIP fans. With 30 runs needed in the last two overs, Navdeep Saini bowled an excellent over to remove both the hard-hitters. When KXIP needed 27 runs from the final over, KXIP skipper, Ravichandran Ashwin smashed a six towards the long-on. Ashwin went on to hit the another ball towards the same area, but found the fielder in Virat Kohli at long-on.

Virat Kohli took a fine catch and gave a fiery send-off to his teammate. Ashwin, who lost his cool with the send-off, threw his gloves at his dugout.
