CSK achieve another unaccessible win

On their return to the Indian Premier League after two years, Chennai Super Kings broadcasted an inspirational theme song featuring skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni – the theme stirred the fans of CSK and now, the way the franchise started their campaign of the season has been more inspirational and pleasing.

CSK achieve another unaccessible win

In back to back matches, CSK comprised marvelous components to gather improbable wins. They have just made a great leap defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets, the margin seems bigger when it has come to the terms, CSK batsmen passed the improbable target of 202 runs thrown by the Knight Riders after batting first.

It was a whole hearted effort by the Chennai Super Kings batting line up; four out of five batsmen they lost, made significant contributions including the unbeaten duo Ravindra Jadeja and last match hero Dwayne Bravo, who together, hold nerves under tremendous pressure in the penultimate overs to hail CSK in the port of victory. Both of them were unbeaten scoring 11 runs.

Previously, opening partners Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu stood for 75 runs in a single ball less than six overs, helped to build a good foundation for the rest of the batsmen to carry on.

Although both Watson and Rayudu lost their wickets within 10 runs, Chennai Super Kings did not fall apiece in front of a large target to chase on.

Suresh Raina stayed a little before skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sam Billings stranglehold the opposition bowlers once again with prudent batting.

Together they took the total to cross 150 run mark in less than five over. When Chawla delivered to MS Dhoni (25 off 28 deliveries) leading him being caught by Karthik in the 16.3 overs, CSK was still long way to go.

Billings, with his incredible batting, was there in the charge; he hit 5 sixes including 2 fours to reach his half century. He was the highest scorer of the team with 56 runs off mere 23 deliveries.

In the early half of the match, Andre Russel nailed Chennai bowlers to produce a thunderous knock of 88 runs unbeaten, batting at seven down, to throw CSK’s good works earlier, out of the park, leading to cross the total to 200 run mark after a faltering start.

Chennai Super Kings’ skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and sent Kolkata Knight Riders to bat first. CSK bowlers, at first show, justified the decision picking up 5 wickets at 89 in less than 10 overs.
