Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Shane Watson’s grandmother passed away just two days before the game against Delhi Capitals.

Former Australia batsman Shane Watson is always known for his all-round abilities on the field, but the kind of commitment he shows for his team rarely gets spotted. He batted for Chennai in the final of the IPL last season against Mumbai Indians with an injured knee that was continuously bleeding and almost won the game for his side.

With the season beginning, the Chennai Super Kings franchise gifted him a photo of that game as a token of appreciation. The all-rounder has shown a different kind of commitment this season again. His grandmother passed away two days prior to the clash against Delhi Capitals.

However, with a heavy heart, Watson played the game on Friday and showed his commitment to the team. He revealed the story during a Youtube interaction.

“I want to send my love to my family back at home and I know how incredible mom was my grandmother to my mom. My heart goes out to my family at home. I’m sorry that I can’t be there right now. My love goes to you,” he said.

Meanwhile, the CSK fans poured love for the all-rounder and labelled him as a true fighter.
