‘We will turn around in the next match’ – Bangladesh pacer Shafiul Islam

Pacer Shafiul Islam claims that Bangladesh are not as bad as they look after the loss in Rajkot. This pacer thinks that the situation will change if they avoid small mistakes. Bangladesh will win the series if they play with their full potential in Nagpur.

'We are now ready for the next match' - Bangladesh pacer Shafiul Islam

Before leaving for Nagpur from Rajkot for the last T20 of the series, Shafiul said Bangladesh forgot about the second T20 and started looking for a fresh start in Nagpur.

“Of course we still have the opportunity, if we play good cricket and if we produce the same performance as the first match. And there were some small mistakes in this second match, if we don’t make those mistakes in the next match, of course, we could win the series. Hopefully, we will turn around in the next match,” Shafiul said.

Liton Das and Mohammad Naim Sheikh gave the team a good start at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium. But the visitors could not hold it. They were able to score just 153 runs in a flat batting pitch. So Bangladesh could not fight with that average total. Most bowlers did not find the correct line and length. But Shafiul is confident that everyone will see another Bangladesh in the next match.

“We made some small mistakes in batting and bowling. We will work with them. If we can overcome those errors, we can do something good.

“There was a big opportunity. If we had won the series a match ago, it would have been nice. Losing match will make you upset undoubtedly. However, the key is how to recover after losing. We are now ready for the next match. We are forgetting this match, correcting the mistakes of this match and focusing on the next match,” the 30-yearold pacer said.

Bangladesh won by 7 wickets against India in Delhi. But India won the second T20 match by 8 wickets in Rajkot and levelled the series by 1-1. The two sides will face the third and final T20 series in Nagpur on Sunday.
