We are sorry for breaking your dreams: Mustafizur

Bangladesh’s key pacer Mustafizur Rahman ended the World Cup with 20 wickets, which is the second-highest in the tournament so far.

Mustafizur apologizes for World Cup failure
Bangladesh had only little positives to take in the latter part of the World Cup and it came in the form of Shakib Al Hasan and Mustfizur Rahman, the top two performances of Bangladesh in this tournament.

While Shakib produced all-round performances in almost all the games, Mustafizur showed a glimpse of magic with the ball in the latter part of the tournament. The cutter master was nowhere near the top 5 list of the leading wicket-taker, but consecutive five-wicket haul against India and Pakistan respectively took him right to the number two position.

In both the matches, when India and Pakistan were all set to strike hard in the death overs, brilliant death bowling from Mustafizur restricted the teams on both the occasions. In this tournament, he also picked up his 100th ODI wicket and became the quickest Bangladeshi to achieve this feat.

Meanwhile, the 23-year old fast bowler posted on social media, where he apologized to the fans for not being able to fulfil their dream. He also posted the picture of the two match balls in which he picked up five-wicket hauls.

“Not the result we wanted but we have to accept it. I know everyone expected better result than us but unfortunately we couldn’t deliver it. We are sorry for breaking your dreams. In Sha Allah we will fulfil all of your dream in the next time,” he tweeted.
