The BCB president did not expect to win against Zimbabwe, a relatively weak opponent, having lost the match by an innings in the last three Tests in India and Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters in Mirpur on Wednesday, the BCB president said,

“What we have been watching in the media for a few days, it seems that we have already won against Zimbabwe. In the game which I have seen in India and Pakistan, I do not keep in mind the prospect of winning with Zimbabwe.”

“Zimbabwe are in Zimbabwe’s position, but we are not in our previous position. Zimbabwe are ahead of us. They are doing well especially in the Test.

“If you ask what is the worst performance on the home-soil of a country, I would say that the loss against Afghanistan,” he added. “It cannot be accepted in any way. If we lose against Afghanistan, we can lose against Zimbabwe.”
