We want to get all 20 wickets of India in the second test – Faf du Plessis

South Africa captain Faf du Plessis urges that they want to take full 20 wickets of India in the second test at Pune which they didn’t able to manage at Visakhapatnam. South Africa only took 11 wickets in the first test match.Faf_du_Plessis

Plessis also expected a more spin pitch at Pune than Visakhapatnam. “We didn’t get 20 wickets in the first Test and that is something I would prefer not to do once more. We are anticipating a pitch that will be somewhat drier and that will spin.

“The turf is somewhat bit more red, more spinning conditions, so anticipating that the ball should turn somewhat more from the straight. I am not a pitch expert but rather I figure it will take more turn than the first Test,” Plessis said after visualizing the Pune pitch.

That means Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthusamy will do most of the wicket taking job for the Proteas. The other spinner Dane Piedt is expected to miss the second test because South Africa are trying to include more pace in the line-up. So Lungi Ngidi or Anrich Nortje might include in the main XI in the upcoming test.

Plessis also hinted at the same thing as he said that they wanted to take inspiration from Mohammed Shami. Shami took fifer in the fourth innings of previous test in a deteriorate pitch. “KG [Kagiso Rabada] and Vern [Philander] are experts in their conditions, they have demonstrated that however any cricketer, not simply bowlers, attempts to gain from players in their very own conditions,” South Africa captain said.

“Shami kept running in with a great deal of power, somewhat faster than in the first innings, and things happened a little snappier off the pitch. Likewise, gaining from the lengths that he bowled. He is a person that hits the stumps a great deal. That is something we need to ensure we are better at. In the first innings, we were excessively wide and they scored often square of the wicket.”

India defeated South Africa by a huge margin of 203 runs after showing outstanding performance in all three sectors- batting, bowling and fielding of the first test match at Visakhapatnam. The second test will start from October 10 at Pune.
