We will make a proper Test team in one and a half year – BCB President
Bangladesh have already passed 19 years of its inception in Test cricket. But at this time, there has been no improvement in Test cricket for Bangladesh. Proof of this was the recent loss to newbie Afghanistan in the Test and the India in World Test Championship in India.
The one thing that needed to be emphasized was neglected. However, this time the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is thinking with much care and attention to make a good Test team.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon said this while addressing the BPL logo on Saturday, November 17.
“We have a fair team in the ODI, deficiencies in T20 will be fixed before the World Cup,” Nazmul Hassan said.
“In this case, we are much weak in Tests. For playing Tests, only Rohit Sharma came from the T20 team for India. But to play the test, almost all of our T20 players came. Mindset actually needs to be done. We have to make a separate team. After a year and a half on the plan we are moving forward, we hope to have a test team. I do not know how they will play, but we will make a proper Test team.”
Speaking on the pace bowling, the President of the BCB said, “Our real problem now is pace bowling. Except home, we were nothing in spin department. Like, Mustafiz [Mustafizur Rahman] has been giving support in pace bowling. But now he too could not be consistent. Now we have to work on it.”
