“We’ll be back” – CSK recall fond memories of IPL 2021 in a special video
Chennai Super Kings were inconsistent throughout the IPL 2020 season in the United Arab Emirates. They managed to secure 6 victories out of 14 games. As a result, they finished seventh in the points table. It would have gone worse for them had it not been for a hat-trick of wins in the last three fixtures of the group stage.
Ruturaj Gaikwad played a substantial role in scoring a half-century in each of the game. CSK missed out on qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in history. However, they went back to the drawing board and came up with a proper plan and strategy to strengthen all departments.
With all bases covered in the IPL 2021 auction, CSK performed incredibly well in the 14th edition. Although they started their campaign with a defeat over Delhi Capitals. They went on to four games on the trot to prove that they are serious title contenders.
They lost to Mumbai Indians despite batting so well. The defending champions chased down a mammoth total of 219 and recorded the highest ever run-chase against CSK. Overall, CSK won 5 games and lost only a couple of games. They are second in the points table with a better net run rate of +1.263.
Meanwhile, the IPL 2021 had to be stopped for the time being after coronavirus breached the IPL bubble. Overseas players of respective teams are going through mandatory quarantine protocols to be eligible to travel to their homeland.
The three-time IPL champions made sure to take their fans and supporters on an emotional ride. CSK took to their official Twitter handle and shared a video clip that dates back to the opening week of March when the cricketers assembled in Chennai for a camp ahead of the start of the brand new season.
