West Indies wants to tour Bangladesh
Bangladesh have no other bilateral series for about four months. On the other hand, the World Champions West Indies’ players will be busy in Indian Premier League (IPL).
West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has sent a proposal to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to arrange a Test in Bangladesh in next two months. BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon said to a daily news paper, “I will discuss the proposal with the board on Sunday. There are many things to consider. Firstly, if this series does take place, then we may have to call back Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman from IPL. Secondly, if it’s after the IPL, then we have to find a slot for that.”
WICB has sent a proposal for only playing Test series. “So far, we have got a proposal to play only Tests. But we will consider the scope of playing other formats as well. In the last two, three months, our major emphasis was on T20 cricket. But from now on, we will provide our maximum focus on Tests and ODIs,” added BCB boss.
Last time Bangladesh played a Test series against West Indies in 2014 in West Indies. But the Tigers badly lost both the matches.
