Who will be the Man of the Tournament ?

The player of the tournament of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season one was Shakib Al Hasan. He played for Khulna Royal Bengals that season. He was the player of the tournament again in the next edition as well. This time he was playing for the Dhaka Gladiators. The third edition was held after a gap of two years. But this time it was not Shakib, instead another all-rounder Ashar Zaidi.

So one thing is clear, in the previous editions of the tournament it was the all-rounders who were selected as the best player of the tournament. This might happen again this season. If it happens the number one all-rounder is not yet in the contest. At the half way stage of the tournament it seems Afghan Cricketer Mohammed Nabi is ahead of all.

He is way ahead of all the known all-rounders. Mohammed Nabi has a huge margin with others. The only cricketer who is close to him is Mahmudullah Riyad. Mohammed Nabi is called as Afghan Tendulkar by his fans. The 31 year cricketer was the captain of Afghan Cricket team. Now he is former captain but still is their best cricketer.

Mohammed Nabi is not playing in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the first time. But its has been his best season with out any doubt. He has been equally distructive with his bat and ball.
He is the highest wicket taker with 14 wickets. The off-spinner have taken four wickets once and three wickets in a match thrice with an excellent average off 11 runs per wicket and 6.14 runs every over. The Afghan has also scored 196 runs in six innings at an average of 49 and strike rate of 196 almost 2 runs every ball.
Now when you will see his difference with other all-rounders, you will actually realise how good he has been in the tournament. Lets start with Shakib. The Dhaka captain have scored 134 runs in eight matches and have taken 6 wickets in total. Sohail Tanvir of Comilla have scored 100 runs and got 10 wickets. The Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi is also not anyway near, as he have scored only 54 runs but have taken 11 wickets.
As we said only Mahmudullah is closer to him. The Khulna Titans captain have scored 205 runs with his bat and also got 9 wickets with his bowling. Though there are many more all-rounders playing in the tournament but none of them are anyway near to compete with the Afghan. So does that mean Mohammed Nabi is going to be the best player this season ? Well we will have to wait for another two weeks to find out that.
