West Indies are in control after the end of Day 1, as they managed to clean up Bangladesh and did not lose wicket while batting and maintained a decent scoring rate. Bangladesh. after losing the toss were all out for 234, while West Indies finished the day with 67/0 in 16 overs.
Bangladesh lost opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy to debutant Anderson Phillips after surviving a few close calls. His partner, Tamim Iqbal was playing beautifully, but could not convert his start to anything major. He departed for 46 just before the lunch.
Then the usual story of Bangladesh continued. Batters like Anamul Haque Bijoy and Najmul Hossain Shanto got starts but none of then converted it into big knocks. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Nurul Hasan, saviors of previous game, failed to create an impact in this match.
