Let us have a look at the statistics in the previously played test matches at Late Rajiv Gandhi stadium.
Only Three test matches have been played here till now. First if them were played between India and New Zealand back in the year 2010.
Then against the same opponents again in 2012 and the last test match in Hyderabad soil was between the mighty Australia and the hosts.
If we take the results and history of all three matches at account we can easily say the conditions here are in favor for the spinners. In fact the turners have dominated in these matches.
Indian front line spinner Ravi Ashwin is the highest wicket-taker in the ground. He has got 18 wickets. No other are close to him in wickets.
Left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha is in second with nine wickets. He is followed by Harbhajan Singh (7), Ravindra Jadeja (6) and Daniel Vettori (5).
- Highest Team total- 503 (India)
- Highest Individual score- Brendon Mc Cullum 225 (New Zealand)
- Most Runs- Cheteshwer Pujara 363 (India)
- Best Bowling Figure- Ravi Ashwin 6/31 (India)
- Highest Partnership- Murali Vijay & Pujara 370 runs
So, it is very clear there is very less to help the seamers instead it can be said as spinners paradise also. That is why all eyes will be on the spinners during this only match of the series.
It is not sure yet what will be the line up of Bangladesh for the match. But one thing is for sure there will be more spinners then it was in the team during the test series against Kiwis.
