The general election is all set to take plan on 23rd December and with the ODI series against Windies also starting on the same month, it’s quite difficult say at the moment if the captain of Bangladesh will play in the series or not.

After the victory over Zimbabwe in the second Test, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan Papon also gave an unsure answer when asked if Mashrafe will play or not.

“It’s difficult [to say whether he will play the West Indies series]. He will definitely play in the World Cup. There is a date for submitting the form and I don’t know for sure when he will submit it and not aware of his programs. I am supposed to meet with him today and hopefully I will know the details today. If there is an opportunity then definitely he will play. Even if has the opportunity to spare one day, then he will. Playing should be his priority.”

Mashrafe bought the form for Narail-2, a constituency where Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, district president of Workers Party of Bangladesh, is the current lawmaker. The last date for submitting the candidacy form is November 28 and selection will take place on December 2. The captain will be extremely busy due to all these and a huge concern rises for the Bangladesh team.
