Williamson wants to play in BPL

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has expressed his desire to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Bangladesh’s most popular domestic cricket tournament. The star cricketer said he would like to take part in the upcoming edition of BPL if given the opportunity.

Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal’s live chat has become a source of joy for cricket fans during the difficult times of coronavirus. One after another, the opener chatted on Facebook live with famous sports personalities, all the unknown events of their playing life came up through the show.

Williamson was Tamim’s guest this time in a series of live sessions. Williamson joined a live chat with Tamim on Thursday (May 21). The conversation between the two was broadcast live on Tamim’s official YouTube channel and Facebook page. The topic of BPL also came up during this enjoyable show. At the time, he wanted to know from Williamson if he was interested in playing in the BPL.

In response to Tamim’s question, the best cricketer of the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup said that he would like to play in the BPL if given the opportunity.

Responding to Tamim’s call, Williamson said, “I’m very interested to play BPL if I find the time. It’s a great tournament. Something very good happens here. Let’s see what happens.”

Although Williamson did not play in BPL, this Kiwi captain has played in Indian Premier League (IPL) and Caribbean Premier League (CPL). There is great interest in franchise leagues around this star cricketer. However, due to lack of time and opportunity, Williamson can hardly play in the franchise league than other contemporary cricketers.
