Without Shakib there will be an extra pressure on spinners-Mehedy Hasan

A difficult time awaits for the Bangladesh team. The World Test Championship is set to begin with a Test against India. It is a very hard task to play against India on Indian soil. India won all five matches of the Test Championship. The Tigers undoubtedly have to face difficult times.

So bowling all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz is preparing for the Test series. He practiced with pink ball on Thursday at the Mirpur Academy ground for the day-night test. After the practice session, Miraz spoke to the reporters.

Miraz said taking all 20 wickets against India in a match would be a difficult challenge. That’s why spinners will have to take on additional responsibilities. “It’s a big challenge for our bowlers to take 20 wickets,” said Miraz.

“And how much we are mentally prepared for or how far ahead we are, it will depend on our practice. In particular, Shakib is always a big advantage for our team but he will not play. And of course there will be an added pressure on the spinners. Taijul, Nayeem, who will play as spinner, will have extra pressure.”

“However, to perform this difficult task properly, you have to bowl according to the rules. If we can force a good line-length, maybe their batsmen will be put in danger, and we will get the benefit,” added Miraz. “Yet we have spinners who have to take the challenge. Of course they are world class batsmen. It is more important how strong we are mentally.”

However, Miraz did not think differently about the pink ball. “So far, I have not been doing anything individually but only practicing adaptation. I hope to go to India and talk to the coaches. We will discuss with them how to do better.”

The remaining members of the Test team including Test captain Mominul Haque, Mehedy Hasan Miraz, Shadman Islam will leave Dhaka on Friday, November 8 to join the team.
