Women’s T20 Challenge schedule announced, two Bangladeshi set to play

BCCI announced the schedule and the squads for the upcoming Women’s T20 Challenge which will be played between three teams. The tournament kicks-off on November 4.

After arranging the Indian Premier League (IPL), BCCI have shifted their focus to Women’s T20 Challenge which was also set to take place but later postponed due to the pandemic.

However, BCB have announced a new date for the tournament. It is set to be played between November 4 to November 9 with three teams. The teams are named Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity.  Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj will lead the teams respectively.

Bangladesh’s two vital players Jahanara Alam and Salma Khatun will also play in the tournament. Jahanara will feature for Velocity once again while Salma will play for Trailblazers. Though Jahanara played the inaugural edition of this tournament, it will be a debut season for Salma.

All the matches will begin at 8:00 PM (BDT) and the venues are yet to be announced by BCCI. Velocity will take on the defending champions  Supernovas in the first game of the tournament.
