Yasir, Taijul enjoy major boost in latest ICC Test rankings

Yasir earns Pakistan emphatic win

Yasir was in cloud number nine battering all his predecessors hauling 14 wickets in the match costing 184 and it helped him to enter into the top 10, jumping nine spots upwards, 32 year old Yasir Shah is at number 10 of the Test bowler’s ranking.

In another spin showdown, Bangladesh’s Taijul Islam claimed 18 wickets in the two match Test series against Zimbabwe and is now enjoying his best ranking. Roping in six spots, Taijul is at number 21.

26 year old Taijul Islam also made havoc in the West Indian batting line up in the first Test match of the two match in Chittagong. His six-fer guided the home team to squeeze 64 run victory against the opposition.

Mominul Haque celebrates his century

In the batting section, Bangladesh’s Mominul Haque steered to move 11 places above to be at number 24 after hitting consecutive centuries. Mominul hammered 120 runs in the first innings of Bangladesh in Chittagong.

Paksitan’s Azhar Ali scoring 81 in Pakistan’s only innings in Dubai Test gained three places to get to No.12, while Haris Sohail moved 33 spots above to be in no. 38 after hitting 147.

Babar Azam, who scored 127*, got to No.39 (up 24 places).

Ross Taylor and Mushfiqur Rahim slipped backwards within top 25 but Johnny Bairstow, Nicholas Pooran moved upwards.

Kagiso Rabada pushed James Anderson aside to claim the top spot in the ICC Test bowler ranking while Trent Boult went down two spots to No.8, allowing Pat Cummins and Ravichandran Ashwin to move up to six and seven respectively.
