Young Tigers register series victory in New Zealand
Bangladesh U19 team are currently touring New Zealand for a 5-match ODI series against the Blackcaps. The young Tigers registered a comfortable victory in the third ODI on Sunday and confirmed the series win with two matches in hand, thanks to Mahmudul Hasan’s unbeaten 103 runs knock.
Having been asked to bat first, the host side posted 223 in the scoreboard after 50 overs losing 8 wickets. The Kiwis were under pressure since the beginning of the innings as their both top-order and middle-order collapsed. However, the one-down batsman Lellman stayed in the middle and kept trying to build the innings from one side. Lellman’s unbeaten 116-run knock helped the hosts to post a respectable total.
In reply, Bangladesh lost their one of the openers Anik Sarker Shatu in the third over of their batting innings. But another Tanzid Hasan and one-down Mahmudul Hasan tackled the situation as they added 100 runs in the first wicket stand. Tamzid had started to play aggresively after reaching to half-century but got out on 65.
Then, Mahmudul again made partnership with Hridoy in the second wicket stand and led Tigers to the victory with an unbeaten 103 runs innings.
