The whole world is fighting against the spread of the coronavirus. The South Asian country, India, has been locked up for 21 days in the meantime. Many Indian sports stars are extending their hands of support during this difficult time of the country. Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been added to the list. His former teammate Harbhajan Singh is also playing the helping role.
India’s famous sports star, Yuvraj Singh on Sunday (April 5th) donated money to a fund created by the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The donation amount in Indian currency is 50 lakh rupees (about 56 lakh in Bangladeshi currency).
Former spinner Harbhajan Singh and his wife, Geeta Basra, have provided food to about 5,000 people in the state.
Harbhajan, who posted a few pictures on social media on Sunday, said his activities had started from that day. Yuvraj said about the donations in a tweet. He also called for extending a helping hand to others.
Former Indian cricketers, including the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma and many other former cricketers, have extended their help. Former batsman and now BJP MP Gautam Gambhir has announced to give his two-year salary in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
We are stronger when we stand united.
