Yuvraj Singh replies to Rohit Sharma’s tweet

India’s all-time favourite cricketer Yuvraj Singh called it quits from international career without even getting to play a farewell match and India vice-captain Rohit Sharma said that a player like Yuvraj Singh deserved a better send-off for his illustrious 17 year-service to the nation.

Yuvraj plied his trade for India in 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is. He essayed 1900 runs in the longest format and 8701 in the ODIs. He is described as one of the best white ball cricketers. His one-day runs takes him to 22nd in the overall list and seventh among Indians.

Unfortunately, he is among the Indian greats who did not get a farewell match after Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Gautam Gambhir.

Rohit Sharma took to his Twitter handle to express that veteran deserved a perfect farewell.

After when Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in Mumbai, he opened up that he was promised a farewell game by the BCCI considering the fact that he failed the ‘Yo-Yo’ fitness test. But, Yuvraj Singh worked beyond the bounds of possibility even at the age of 37 and passed it and his farewell never happened.

“I was told… If you cannot pass the Yo-Yo test, then you could play a retirement match. I said I do not want a retirement match and if I do not pass the Yo-Yo test, I would go home. I passed the Yo-Yo test and the rest is not my call,” Yuvraj Singh said.

“In life now, I will have a lot of time to discuss these things and I will have a lot to say. I am not saying anything right now because India is playing the World Cup and I don’t want any controversies around the players. I want the players to be in the best space to go into the last four.

“I am sure my time will come to speak and I don’t want to be in that space where I have retired at the World Cup time… I have retired because I want to move on with my life and I am sure my time will come to talk about these things,” Yuvraj said.

“You don’t know what you got till its gone. Love you brotherman You deserved a better send off. @YUVSTRONG12,” Rohit Sharma tweeted.

This is how Yuvraj Singh replied:

“You know how I feel inside! Love u brothaman you go be a legend ❤️,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.
