Zaheer Abbas reveals the Indian batsman he prefers to watch

Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the finest batsmen in the world at the moment, and unarguably the best from India. But one Pakistan legend thinks otherwise. To him, it is more satisfying to watch some other Indian batsman.

The Pakistan legend in question is Zaheer Abbas, who himself is regarded as one of the best of his generation, and probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing to watch as well. And to him, the Indian batsman who meets the same criteria is not Virat Kohli.

According to Abbas, one can gather more satisfaction watching India opener Rohit Sharma unfurl his strokes.

In a recent interview on YouTube channel, Abbas said: “Kohli is a great player, but watching the beautiful strokes that Rohit Sharma possesses gives me a lot of satisfaction. The way he creates a shot is his art, which is something that Kohli does not possess.”

Abbas did not stop just there. He kept on adding that the primary reason he preferred watching Rohit bat is the India limited-overs vice captain’s unique style.

“When he is playing, I never switch off my TV. Kohli is right now India’s backbone but watching Rohit making his strokes makes me happy. Both these batsmen are great to watch,” he said.

Abbas also put on his observation as to why Indian cricket has been so dominant over the past few years.

“They have a lot of money, but they have also worked on the right areas. They have not made too many changes to their domestic system, which only made it better.”
