Zimbabwe cricketers willing to play ‘for free’

The Zimbabwe cricketers are ready to play even for free in the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifiers to keep the game alive in their country.

Zim players wants to play
Zimbabwe are passing their worst time in the cricket history as the International Cricket Council (ICC) have suspended them due to their political interference.  With the ban still on, it is very unlikely that Zimbabwe will be able to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifiers.

However, some senior players have insisted that they are even ready to play for free.

“We will play for free. As long as we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our next assignment is the qualifiers. We will play for free.”

It has also been revealed that two of the senior players of Zimbabwe haven’t been even paid in the last two months and none of the players has got their match fees during their recent tour of Netherlands and Ireland.

With suspension on, Zimbabwe can still host bilateral series and the ICC can even appoint match officials for it, but it will be a mighty task for Zimbabwe as ICC have informed that they will not provide any fund until further notice.

According to FTP, Zimbabwe were set to  host Afghanistan in August and the West Indies in October and November before travelling to India for a three-match T20 series in January 2020.
