It was obvious that there would be a couple of changes in the squad because both Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal have been ruled out for a couple of months due to injuries. Apart from them, the selectors have made some more changes to the recently concluded Asia Cup squad.

Meanwhile, pace bowling all-rounder has made a return to the Bangladesh squad after a long time. He was earlier, dropped from Bangladesh ODI squad after playing only three matches where his performances were not up to the mark.

According to the chief selector, this is the best possible they could make in the absence of senior players like Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal. “We made the best possible side because every series is important for us as there is the issue of ranking points. As Shakib and Tamim are injured, you will definitely see one or two changes in the side,” Minhajul Abedin Nannu was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.
