Injuries are the most frustrating thing in the game of cricket. We have seen players miss the match due to an injury. Incidents of players picking up an injury during the match or in the training session are many. Due to this, players are sidelined from the game which further shuffles the team combination.

To put in simple terms, injuries can put the team on the backfoot. Fitness is an important parameter as far as any sport is concerned. If a player is fit, there are more chances of not getting injured. How many times have we seen unfit players picking up injuries?

When the cricketing action was suspended for more than five months due to nationwide coronavirus lockdown, the players were not supposed to train outdoors. Some of the players gained weight as well. In this article, let’s take a look at five players who have been injured in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.

1. Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu is a potential match-winner for any team that he plays for. He was quite productive with the bat for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians in the IPL opener.

He was also named the man of the match for his spectacular 71. He helped his team beat Mumbai Indians in the IPL opener. His candid knock came at the need of the hour as CSK registered a win over Mumbai Indians after tasting four defeats in a row in the previous edition of the IPL.

Unfortunately, Ambati Rayudu picked up an injury during the training session which forced him to miss the next two games against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. CSK lost two games on the trot as well. Rayudu who must have recovered from the injury is expected to take the field against Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2.
