‘A rooster’s revenge’! Australian club cricketer dislocates jaw while sledging
Well, it was a rather fair trade off for Jeff Bluhm! The Dromana batsman got sledged by the Hastings skipper Jayden Regan and with no time sooner Regan found himself in a world of discomfort finding his jaw dislocated.
Two of them were engaged in verbal fight during Bluhm’s innings at the Australia’s Morning Peninsula Cricket Association’s Bendigo Community Bank – District 2nds competition match. By the time the batsman became unfortunate enough to get dismissed in 99, opposition fielder Regan who took the precious catch, with utmost elation and exuberance, screamed up to his voice only to rush to the hospital having his jaw moved away from its’ place.
With bandaged wrapped around his face, Regan, back to the scene after a while, came forward to reunite with Bluhm, shook hands and laughed away the bizarreness.
“We got a bit excited and started to carry on as you do and then I thought, nah I’ll give it a bit more and then the jaw just fell out of place,” Regan said.
“Once I got to the hospital I was screaming there. They took me straight in and the doctor had to put his thumbs in the back of my mouth and crack it back in.
“He was having a beer and I would have but I couldn’t. I caught up with Bluhmy afterwards and we shook hands and had a bit of a laugh about it,” he added.
Dromana Cricket Club decided to have some fun with the image of Regan in the hospital by uploading the picture with a headline that read, “A rooster’s revenge”.
“It’s hard to imagine anyone else getting out for 99 … then finding a way to dislocate the opposition captain’s jaw … without touching him! But that’s our Jeff ‘Rooster’ Bluhm for ya! Oh … and get well soon, Jayden!,” the post read.
In to the comfort zone for Regan in the match, he recorded the figure of 4 for 55 in the match.
