AB de Villiers picks top-5 emerging players for UAE T20x League

Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers, who is the global ambassador of the UAE T20x League has picked up his 5 emerging picks from the league’s roster.

AB de Villiers set to replace McCullum in Lahore

The UAE T20x League, which is set to kick-off on 19th December will be played with five teams of 16 players each. With this league, de Villiers will be making his comeback onto the field as he hasn’t played any cricket since taking the retirement from International cricket.

A total of 22 games will be played in the UAE T20x League and along with Shahid Afridi, Eoin Morgan, David Miller, Andre Russell and Kumar Sangakkara, the Proteas legend is also a global ambassador of the league.

Bangaldesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is also likely to play in the league after Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) gave NOC to the player.

Apart from the legends of the game, there are many young and emerging players who will be taking part in the league and AB de Villiers have picked up his 5 emerging players from the roster and posted it on his Twitter.

Dan Lawrence, Jamie Overton, Shimron Hetmyer, Paul Stirling, Qais Ahmed and Paul Stirling is on his list. Hetmyer, who is currently playing against India has scored a hundred and a fifty in the ODI series while Afghanistan’s Qais Ahmed looks a bright prospect for the emerging side. Ireland’s Stirling is the most experienced among all of them.
