ACC extends team announcement deadline on BCB's request

BCB wants some time to confirm whether Litton and Sohan can play Asia Cup or not. An extension of time was requested to the ACC for that purpose. So, the ACC has extended the team announcement deadline to August 11.

The much-awaited edition of the Asia Cup will start on August 27 this month. Before that, there was time till August 8 to announce the team. However, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has extended that deadline on the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) request.
Several Bangladeshi cricketers have suffered injuries in recent times. Asia Cup will be held in T20 format. Litton Das and Nurul Hasan Sohan are two important members of the team in this format, both of whom are out due to injuries currently.
BCB wants some time to confirm whether Litton and Sohan can play Asia Cup or not. An extension of time was requested to the ACC for that purpose. So, the ACC has extended the team announcement deadline to August 11.
Only Pakistan has announced the squad for the Asia Cup so far. Asia's five Test playing teams Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan will compete in this tournament along with a few associate member teams emerging from the qualifiers.
This year's Asia Cup will start with the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in 'B' group on August 27. India and Pakistan, the two arch-rivals of Group A, will play on August 28. The first two matches will be in Dubai. Bangladesh’s first match is against Afghanistan in Sharjah on August 30.
