Agarwal replaces Dhawan for West Indies ODIs
Indian right-handed batsman Mayank Agarwal has been named as the replacement for left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies.
Indian left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is out of action now after getting a cut in his leg during a match in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. The Delhi batsman is missing the ongoing T20I series against West Indies as well as the upcoming ODI series against West Indies.
India’s new Test opening batsman Mayank Agarwal has been named as the replacement for injured Shikhar Dhawan in the ODI series. On Wednesday BCCI confirmed the replacement with an official statement.
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Mayank Agarwal as replacement for the injured Shikhar Dhawan in India’s squad for the upcoming Paytm ODI series against West Indies.
Dhawan had suffered a deep cut on his left knee during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game against Maharashtra in Surat and was ruled out of the ongoing T20I series. The BCCI Medical Team feels that while Dhawan’s stitches are off and his wound is healing gradually, he still needs some more time before he regains full match fitness.”
